Community Building & Engagement
Community Building
During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic at the CVCA, it was critical to keep members connected and engaged. VC and PE investors need to stay connected to each other to benefit from deal flow, access to expertise, co-investment opportunities, and more. Consequently, we launched a private LinkedIn group exclusively for CVCA members. This initiative established more channels for members to connect directly and share information.
Fostering Connection
The pandemic also caused significant disruption to CVCA's Invest Canada conference, where high calibre networking is a key benefit of attendance. To address this challenge, the CVCA team and I created a new virtual networking opportunity, "Invest Canada Networking Week," which is now a permanent fixture of the conference's hybrid presentation. Attendees can leverage the conference platform, take virtual meetings within the app, and book meetings ahead a full week in advance of the in-person experience.
During the refresh of CVCA's news website, my team and I worked with web developers to create a new user-generated community hub. This hub offers more opportunities for the Canadian VC and PE community to connect and engage, including a place to share industry-related content like blogs, podcasts, news articles, videos, events, and more. This new community hub and content feed is curated by my team.
